Work visa medical screening services (This service is to conduct Confirmatory tests for suspected diseases that are required to be reported during work visa medical applications)
Documents to be submitted:
- Original passport of the applicant
- Work permit entry pass/ work permit document or an official document issued by Ministry of Economic Development or Maldives Immigration
Steps to be completed and duration of the process:
- When the medical screening report is received, the agency will contact the person on the same day to arrange for the confirmatory test. If the report is received after 12:00 pm, it will be sent for confirmatory testing the next day. Confirmatory testing can be done at IGMH.
- If there is an X ray problem: the person will be referred to Respiratory infectious disease and diagnostic unit (RIDDU) for a suspected case of a lung disease
- Any issue detected from the blood: confirmatory test will be sent to HPA directly from IGMH.
Those who test negative for confirmation, the result will be sent to the health facility where the person has done the medical. The report will be issued by the health facility.
Those who test positive for confirmation will be asked to come to HPA. with required documents between 09:00am – 12:00pm on official days. Counselling will be given to those who need counselling about the disease. The treatment process will start. The relevant documents will be verified and shared with the relevant institutions and the employer.
Those who have completed treatment or have medical clearance
The decision letter can be vibered to the medical number: 7424898. The agency will notify the hospital/clinic where the medical was conducted.
Medical services provided to persons positive under medical screening.
Documents to be submitted
- Original passport of the applicant
- Work permit entry pass/ work permit document or an official document issued by the Ministry of Economic Development or Maldives Immigration
Steps to be completed and duration of the process:
- Information of a person positive under medical screening should be uploaded to the ‘one.gov portal’ by the clinic.
- If your report reaches us before 12:00 p.m., HPA will promptly reach out to the employee via email and SMS. You’ll receive details for a confirmatory test, including a confirmatory code (for reports from IGMH lab) or a reference (for reports from a respiratory clinic).
If there is an X-ray problem:
- the person will be referred to the Respiratory Infectious Disease and Diagnostic Unit (RIDDU) for a suspected case of a lung disease. and the individual’s details will be shared with (RIDDU)
Any issue detected from the blood:
- Details of the individual that requires confirmatory testing will be sent to the focal point at the IGMH laboratory. confirmatory test results will be sent to HPA directly from IGMH.
Those who test negative for confirmation,
- When HPA receives the report from IGMH, the report will be posted to the one.gov portal on the same day (except for public holidays). The health facility where the person had done the medical will be notified via portal to provide the work permit after confirming that the person is medically fit.
Those who test positive for confirmation,
- A scanned copy of the document issued by the Ministry of Economic Development or Maldives Immigration will be sent with a “UNFIT” stamp.
- The individual will be recorded on the portal as medically “unfit” to work in the Maldives
- And the document with the “UNFIT” stamp will be emailed to Maldives immigration via the portal.
- HPA will provide disease-related counseling to individuals who require it. On official days, a time between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. shall be assigned for counseling.
- Documentation for Maldives immigration and economic development will be supplied the following day (except on public holidays).
- Those in need of treatment will be reported to Dhamanaveshi if they are in Male.
- a referral from Dhamanaveshi will be issued to the employer via text message (SMS) and email.
- Those who have completed counseling or obtained medical clearance should send a decision letter to the medical number: 7424898. The agency will notify the hospital/clinic where the medical was done, the next day before 14:00 (excluding on public holidays).
- If an unfit or sick individual needs counseling, it will be provided at HPA from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
NOTE
- Viber messages and emails received on official days before 12:00 p.m. will be responded to the same day. If it is after 12:00 PM, it will be attended to the following day.
- The status of the work permit can be viewed via the clinic or hospital portal that the medical was done from.
- Because “one gov” is a new service, any problems with the work permit or medical can be vibered to 7424898 or mailed to [email protected] for further assistance.
Providing Hepatitis B and C medications to people in need
Documents to be submitted:
- Patient treatment history/ prescription
- ID card copy
Steps to be completed and duration of the process:
- Viber your prescription and ID card to HPA. It will be forwarded to a physician for renewal.
- When prescription renewal is completed, you will be informed via viber message or call before 14:00 on the same day. Otherwise, the update will be communicated the following day.
- Once renewed, your designated caregiver can pick up the prescription from the Dharumavantha Hospital internal medicine counter.
